8Ball and 9Ball Pool Championship Coming up to Sri Lanka

The Billiard and Snooker Association has announced the date and location for the upcoming 8ball and 9ball pool championship in Sri Lanka. The National billiards event is scheduled to the 19-26 of January and it will take place at the Apex Pool Parlour, Borella, Sri Lanka.

Organized by The Billiard and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka and sponsored by Finance and Guarantee Company in collaboration with Apex Pool Parlour, the sixth annual National Eight and Nine Ball Pool Championship 2007 will commence on January 19, 2008. The pool championship is co-operated by the Ministry of Sports.

The popularity of the 8ball and 9ball pool game among Sri Lanka both men and women billiards players has been increasing over the last year. If the previous national pool championship drew no more than 30 of the country's top billiards players, the upcoming event is expected to attract more than 200 local pool players. The pool champion will be awarded with a trophy and 50,000 Sri Lanka rupees (about $463) while the finalist will go home with 50,000 LKR.
