Pool Games Techniques

Pool game techniques have an enormous significance in the course of the play. Whether it is 8ball, 9ball or any other pool game, players are using techniques to improve their aiming, cue ball control and the position of the balls.

In every type of pool game, the players are using various techniques to maneuver the cue ball in a way that will improve its position for the next shot. So, even if a player failed in pocketing an object ball, he can use pool game techniques to tackle his opponent and leave him complicated shots.

Pool Games Techniques – Basic Introduction

English

English is a sidespin, in which the pool player hits the left or the right side of the cue ball. The purpose of this pool game technique is to modify the cue ball angle of the reflection and on the same opportunity to change the direction of an object ball.

Follow

Follow is a topspin applied onto the cue ball purposed to spin the path of the cue ball and to change its speed. To use the follow technique, the pool player hits the cue ball above center. Follow impacts the pool game by widening the rebound angle of the cue ball and increasing the value of the cue ball's path

Force-Follow

The same as follow, force-follow is a topspin applied onto to the cue ball, except in a much powerful rate. This technique is often used in trick shots as well as in position play in games such as 8ball pool.

Draw

Draw is the exact opposite of the pool game technique follow. Draw is backspin whereby the pool player hits the cue ball below center. As opposed to follow, it narrows the rebound angle of the cue ball and to slower its path.

Throw

Throw is a sidespin that causes the object ball to move away from the cue ball. For example, when a player applies English onto the cue ball's left and as a result the object ball is thrown to the right. This pool game technique is mostly affected by the cue ball's speed.
