Obama Plays Pool at the WV CampaignBarack Obama has showed off his pool skills during his West Virginia campaign on Monday, May 12. Visiting the Schultzie’s Billiards in South Charleston as part of his 6 hour visit to West Virginia prior to the WV primary election, Obama played a short game of 8-ball against a Paul Scott, an Iraq war veteran and a local volunteer.
Pocketing the 8-ball before his time disqualified Barack Obama from winning the pool game. Yet, the two continued to play until the last ball was pocketed by Obama's opponent. Obama got several opportunities to execute some impressive looking shots including a complicated one where the object ball dropped into the opposite side pocket. Finally, Obama and Scott departed off the pool table shaking hands. "I didn’t embarrass myself," he said, insinuating to his previous public humiliation in front of a bowling alley.
Despite the loss of his pool game, Barack Obama was pleased to prove that his pool skills are far superior to his bowling abilities that were a few weeks ago at the Pennsylvania campaign. "The sign of a misspent youth… Obviously I wasn’t doing wholesome things like bowling" Obama justified the differences between his skill level in the two recreations.
